Petra
Wendstedt-Pulles an Emerald Society member from Eindhoven, The
Netherlands is shown presenting 700 Euros (over $1000) to Dick
Sterne for the Walter Reed Clothing Drive. Petra is the
Chairperson of the Screaming Eagles of World War II Foundation which
is dedicated to keeping the memory alive of Holland's liberation by
American soldiers during World War II, and especially the liberation
of Eindhoven and vicinity by the "Screaming Eagles" of the 101st
Airborne Division. Thanks to Petra and the many other people and
groups in the Netherlands who contributed to this worthy cause,
including Tony Pulles, Oscar Baricz, Fred Scheurwater, the
Immigration Police in Eindhoven, Tom Timmermans, Jet and Lies van
Berkel, Nell Pulles, the Van Kamp family, Nelly and Francois Van Loo
and the Screaming Ducks Living History Association. |

To kick off the sale of the
DCFD 9-11, 10th Anniversary Badge Sets, Elliot Goodman presented
Dr. Jordan, Director of the Washington Hospital Centers Elite
Burn Unit with the new badge set which commemorates and
remembers the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001 and the
D.C. Fire Departments presence at the Pentagon those tragic and
memorable days.
The badge sets which are
numbered consist of the badge, pin, case and matching box will
be sold with a donation being given to the D.C. Firefighters
Burn Foundation for each set sold. Also present was Jason Woods,
President of the Burn Foundation who was presented with an
initial donation of $1000 with additional donations to come. To
